Johan Jacob Bruun (b. Slagelse 1715, d. Hillerød 1789)

5 prospects respectively Amalienborg Castle, Christiansborg Castle, Moltkes Palæ Sorgenfri Castle and Fredensborg Castle. All inscribed in print Fecit Johan Jacob Bruun. The first mentioned also inscribed in print H. Qvist Sc. The last mentioned dated 1756 in print. Christiansborg and Fredensborg also inscribed in print J. Haas C. R. U. Hafni Sc. Coloured engravings. Visible size ca. 22.5×30.5 cm. (5).

The firstmentioned depicts Sophie Amalienborg, a castle errected by Queen Sophie Amalie in 1667–73, it burned down in 1689. The artist has created a gouache depicting the castle in 1740.

Provenance: Bruun Rasmussen auction 48, 2004 no. 2037.

Condition

The paper has turned slightly brown. Discolourations. Examined in frame.
