With a design history covering almost 100 years, the Cartier Chinoise was introduced in 1922 and has rarely been reproduced since. As the model name suggests, the design was heavily inspired by Chinese architecture, more specifically ancient temple portals. This example was produced as part of the Cartier Collection Privée spanning from 1998–2008, in which Cartier revived several of their most iconic and unusual designs from the 20th century, elegantly fitted with factory-set diamonds and a beautiful, ivory-coloured dial.
