The Safari Chair". An ash armchair upholstered with reddish/brown leather in seat, back, armrests and loose cushion, straps with full grain leather. Made by Rud. Rasmussen Cabinetmakers, Copenhagen.
In 1933 designed Professor Kaare Klint his variation of the “Safari-chair” with special attention to design a simple and portable easy chair. He was inspired by an English officer's chair which he had seen in a travel book from Africa. Constructing a chair which could easily be disassembled and assembled without using any tools Klint maintained the field equipment purpose of the chair. Source: Rud. Rasmussen Cabinetmakers.
