An 18th century Chinese patinated bronze figure of Buddha, wearing ornate jewellery and seated in dhyanasana on a rectangular throne, draped with a long cloth. Qianlong. H. 18 cm.

Strongly bent base. The nose flat. Bowl and mandorla missing. Remains of paint at the reverse of the trone. Incised signs more places. Wear due to age and use.
