A Danish Amager silver-gilt “hovedvandsæg” vinaigrette with filigree-work, heart-shaped, the hinged cover with crowned oval medallion, flanked by palm leaves, the medallion with owner's initials APS NJTS, the back side with forget-me-not flowers, the body set with two medallions with memorials, the base with rampant lions and balm-hide, pricked with initials and date APS NJTS 1863. Maker's mark AM, presumably maker Andreas Mortensen Møller, Copenhagen 1802–1846. Weight 98 g. H. 11.5 cm.

Provenance: Käthe & John Marsing's collection.

Condition

Wear due to age and use. The cover with slightly loose filigree mount - a few metal “bindings” loose. Medallions: faded, worn and with missing ornaments.
