N. B. Corrected 12/4 2021. The artist travelled the Caribbean Islands, Saint Thomas and Saint Croix, and resided on Saint Thomas in 1880–1882. Hermann Meyer Hjernøe (1824–77) acted as attorney in Saint Thomas from 1863 and had a seat on the The Colonial Council.

Condition

In need of cleaning and a slight tightening.
