Japanese rectangular lacquer scolar's box with rounded corner decorated with mons all over, metal on the sides attached to a braided silk cord. 19th centiury. L. 24,5 cm. H. 7 cm. W. 8 cm.

Provenance: Descendants of Poul Laursen (1910–1983), who was director of the Great Nordic Telegraph Company and stationed in Shanghai from 1947–1951 with his wife Trine Laursen.
