A Jimpul sabre with a Mandau hilt in its wooden scabbard. The well carved hilt in bone have a tuff of hair, the curved c 52,5 cm long blade is well made with a fuller on each side. The scabbard held by rattan bands is decorated with tuffs of hair.
Brought to Denmark by Niels Stoltz who managed a rubber plantation by Kuta Bharu in Kelantan on Borneo 1903–1924. He served in the ”Kelantan Volunteer Rifles” and participated in several punic expeditions both on the east coast of Malaya and in Sarawak as he spoke fluent Malay and knew both the whole of the east coast and parts of Sarawak.
The blade spotted. The upper binding on the scabbard damaged.
