Danish Golden Age painter, first half of the 19th century
Portrait of the painter Niels Simonsen. Unsigned. Inscribed Niels Simonsen and on the mount maleren Lundbye. Iron gall ink on paper laid on paper. Sheet size 14×11.5 cm.
The present drawing is related to a lithograph with the same subject matter printed at Emil Bærentzen's lithography workshop. An example is in the National Gallery of Denmark inv. no. KKS12732.
The sheet has turned brown. Several stains. Examined in frame.
