After C. W. Eckersberg's painting, Emil Hannover no. 196, painted in Rome 1813–1816. That one was sold at the estate auction after Eckersberg.
Several of Eckersberg's paintings from Rome decorated the walls in his home at Charlottenborg. When Eckersberg's students came visiting their master, they were able to try their capability copying his works. It must have been the case with this painting.
