A George II verge pocket watch in gold pair cases, champleve gold dial with black Roman numerals and outer 5-minutes Arabic numerals, signed Kipling London, movement with square baluster pillars, signed Will Kipling, London, No 1635. Inner case marked TP, No. 1635, year letter M = 1727–1728. Matched outer case chased and engraved with lute playing female and putto, surrounded by animals, flowers and foliage, apparently unmarked. Weight in total 118 g. Case diam. 41/48 mm.
