A French Gothic gilt-copper ciborium, hinged pointed lid on hexagonal-shaped container, stem with profiled knob on circular and slightly domed base. 15th century. H. 28 cm.
Provenance: The collection after pharmacist Steen Oxholt Holt-Hove (1906–1986), Danish assay master 1971–1974. Thence by descent until today.
Minor wear due to age and use, including some skewings, worn gilding, chips on the lower edge of the lid, chipped top cross, loose hinge, pawl missing from lock, base tilts approx. 2 millimeters.
