Thomas Dambo (b. Odense 1979)
“Kæmpekrabben Konrad” (Konrad the Giant Crab). A large polychrome sculpture. Plastic pieces, iron, wood and galvanized screws. H. 201. Diam ca. 530 cm.
Thomas Dambo works only with recycled materials and is known for his impressive, giant trolls, made of recycled wood. Today they adorn parks and forests in several countries. With recycled plastic as material, “Konrad the giant crab” was created in 2021 for Fjord & Belt in Kerteminde. The idea behind it was to draw attention to the plastic pollution that accumulates in the oceans. Due to reconstruction of the museum, the sculpture is now being sold at auction. The sculpture is picked up no later than one week after the sale at the buyer's expense. It will be necessary to transport it on a crane truck. The sculpture is bolted with nuts at each single leg, but can of course be removed. The sculpture can be viewed at Fjord & Bælt in Kerteminde. The sculpture is also presented on Thomas Damsbo's own website: https://www.thomasdambo.com/works/konrad-the-crab For additional information please contact Bruun Rasmussen, Aarhus.
