A Chinese patinated bronze figure of Medicine Buddha with remains of gilding, he is seated in dhyanasana, right hand holding a myrabalan fruit, the left in front of his lap, a swastika engraved on his chest. Ming 1368–1644. Weight 5910 gr. H. 30 cm. Wooden base incl.

Provenance: Carl Johan Knipschildt 1889–1967 Manager East Asiatic Company, Shanghai 1915–25; Later owner and director for the export and import company Knipschildt & Eskelund in Shanghai until 1949.
