Andrey Nikiforovich Voronikhin, the manner of, early 19th century
A suite of Russian neoclassic brass mounted mahogany seat furniture in the manner of Andrei Nikiforovich Voronikhin (b. Perm 1759, d. 1814), comprising a pair of armchairs, a pair of chairs and a pair of sofas of which one with different upholstery. L. sofa 156 cm. (6).
The architect Andrei Nikiforovich Voronikhin was one of the most important Russian architects of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The design of this set of seat furniture is known from 'The Lantern Study' at Pavlovsk palace, which was created in 1807.
