A Russian Mother of God icon “Kazanskaya”. Tempera on wood panel, mounted with chased and embossed silver-gilt oklad with scrolling foliage, large splendor halo with pierced edge, oklad formed as a robe richly decorated with pearls and facet-cut glass stones in rosa, green, white and turquoise. Apparently no maker's mark. Icon 17th/18th century. Icon 33×28 cm. Kiot(later) 45×41 cm.
Exhibited: A La Vieille Russie in New York, 1962 no. 54. Arkansas Arts Center, 1963–1964 no. 2.
