Portrait of Frederik III (1609–1670) standing at full length in a French fashion suit with wide bindings, sumptuous use of bows and ribbons and large falling collar boots. On his left side a table with a red cloth on which the crown regalia, today at Rosenborg Castle. Unsigned. Oil on canvas. 202×110 cm.

Gerdt Dittmers belonged to an artist family from Hamburg and was probably the brother of the painter and graphic artist Heinrich Dittmers (C. 1625–1677). Gerdt Dittmers worked in Denmark in the 1650s.
