A cast bronze figure of Kuixing, the God of Civil Examinations, balancing with one foot on a square-sectioned plinth also supporting a censer in one corner. Remains of gilding and red paint. Ming dynasty 1368–1644. Weight 587 g. H. 19.5 cm.

Condition

Wear due to age and use. Left foot broken off.
