Sunny pergola from Ravello. Signed and dated Marie K Ravello 90. Oil on panel. 28.5×40 cm.
In 1890 Marie and P. S. Krøyer went on their honeymoon to Rome, Capri and Naples. In May they were in Ravello, where Krøyer painted “A wine bar” (The Hirschsprung Collection) and “Marie painting in Ravello” (Skagen Museum). It could be this sunny pergola Marie was working on.
