The motif of the painting was inspired by no. 57 in the Catalogue Raisonné: “Mødet mellem den danske og den svenske konge i Øresund” (A meeting between the Swedish and the Danish King in the Sound/Øresund).
The Swedish King sailed with the Swedish steam corvette “Thor” to Denmark.
