Universal

A gentleman's wristwatch of 18k gold. Model Unisonic, ref. 1521102. Electronic tuning fork movement with date, cal. 1–52. Champagne-coliured dial with gold hour markers and hands. Black strap with Universal Geneve C-type buckle of gold plated metal. Watch diameter 34 mm. 1960–1970s.

Accompanied by Universal Geneve travelling pouch. Total weight app. 44 g.

The Universal Geneve Unisonic models are truely prime examples of horological history. When Bulova introduced the Accutron in 1960, they clearly made an impact on Universal Geneve, who sought to implement Bulova's technology years before the quartz crisis through Universal Geneve-modified Bulova movements. The result was clearly innovative for the period, combining Swiss design and American movement which in turn is visible in the combined Universal Geneve/Accutron logo printed on the dial.

Condition

Minor wear due to age and use. The watch works, but we do not guarantee for the functionality.
