A German 14k and 18k gold tabatiere of cartouche form with lobed bombé sides, engraved with leaves on a sablé ground, the cover centered with a glazed circular plaque depicting Helios in a chariot encircled by zodiac signs, surrounded by applied blue enamelled strapwork, flowers and leaves in low relief and four old-cut transparent glass stones. Maker Charles Collins & Söhne, Hanau mid 19th century. Weight 112 g. L. 9 cm. W. 6.3 cm. H. 2.7 cm.
