This table is most likely a unique table, and the example that was exhibited in 1964 at the cabinetmakers' exhibtion and again at Charlottenborg in 1968. The table is in fact a consequence of the dispute that Arne Karlsen started in 1962 about the direction of Danish furniture design and a tendency to discard the insights accumulated by Kaare Klint and his school of furniture design. On this background Arne Karlsen asked the experienced Rigmor Andersen and the younger Annelise Bjørner if they would each show how it should be done. Instead the two women formed a partnership and developed a series of furniture that completely in the spirit of Kaare Klint appears as studies in geometry and function - executed by the best cabinetmakers.
