Literature: Knud Søeborg, “Christen Dalsgaard og hans kunst”, reproduced p. 102 and mentioned p. 105. Søeborg writes the following about the painting (in Danish): “From 1875 is the work ”En Opdagelse“ [The Discovery], in which a young fisherman's daughter, who has just played 'horse' with her brother, stops for a moment to watch her girlfriend with a lover who, thinking that they are alone on the beach, are locked in a sweet embrace.”
