[42], 494 pp., [8]. 60 woodcuts and 63 large engravings in the text, among which is the oldest known view of Copenhagen showing the siege of the city in 1536. Rebound (20th century) in full velvet with gilt patterns on both boards, with cont. green ties preserved and cont. gauffered edges. With signs of wear due to age and use.
Importent source for the history of the Northwestern parts of Germany and Denmark. Hamelmann's Chronicon is the first book to be printed in Oldenburg (Brunet) and it is the historical source work for the “House of Oldenburg” whose descendents became kings of Denmark and emperors of Russia.
