A Belle Èpoque sapphire and diamond ring set with a cushion-cut sapphire weighing app. 13.80 ct. encircled by numerous old-cut diamonds, mounted in platinum. Size 53.5. New York, circa 1910.

Provenance: Ms Edith Pulitzer's engagement ring. Edith was the daughter of the Hungarian-American journalist and newspaper publisher Mr. Joseph Pulitzer, who by provisions in his will established the Pulitzer Price in 1917. The ring has been in the family's possession ever since.
