Alfred Gregory (b. England 1913, d. 2010)

An original b/w press photograph of the New Zealand mountaineer Sir Edmund Hillary (1919–2008) and his companion, the Nepalese Tenzing Norgay Sherpa (1914–1986) on the top of Mount Everest on May 29, 1953. Back with agency stamp (King Features Syndicate, New York), stamped publication date (July 24, 1953) and transparant blue cover. Visible size 25×20. Frame size 31×26 cm.

Condition

This is an original b/w press photograph from 1953, which has yellowed slightly. Furthermore normal signs of handling.
