A b/w portait photograph of Danish author Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875), pictured sitting in the garden of the Melchior family's country retreat, 'Rolighed' in Østerbro (Copenhagen). Mounted on brown cardboard. Presumably late 19th century. Cardboard size 17×15 cm. Photo size 13.5×11 cm. Frame size 20×18 cm.

Condition

The surface of the photograph shows small cracklings. Furthermore a minor damage can be observed in the upper left corner. Giltwood frame with signs of age and handling.
