This photograph by Keld Helmer-Petersen (1920–2013) is presented in the Danish photographer's groundbreaking work “122 Farvefotografier / 122 Colour photographs” from 1948. This book - his debut - made him an international pioneer within modern photography and it marked a turning point in the history of Danish photography as well. With this inspirational book Helmer-Petersen showed a completely new way of using the photographic media, particularly colour photographs. Photographs of Helmer-Petersen have only rarely been put up for auction. Provenance: The descendants of Keld Helmer-Petersen.
