J. F. Clemens worked for three years on the engraving - “Bataillen d. 2. April 1801, paa Kiøbenhavns Reed” - after the painting by C. A. Lorentzen from 1801, today located in Frederiksborg Castle. The motif is a detailed rendering of the battle around one o'clock.
Two minimal repairs at the edges. A single damp discolouration. Minor stains and discolourations and some minimal holes. The paper has turned brown. Examined in frame.
