Otto Pippel was a German painter notable for his Impressionist-styled paintings. He worked with textures and colours to create the fleeting effects of movement and light as in the present painting. Travelling to Paris after 1910 he was especially inpressed by and inspired by the works of Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. His work can be found in the collections of the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus in Munich and the Städtische Galerie in Rosenheim and other German museums.
