This antique Kerman rug displays a pictorial scene of Nader Shah Afshar (ruled 1736–1747). He was the 18th century founder of the Afsharid dynasty. Nader Shah Afshahr was one of the most powerful Iranian rulers in the history because of his military genius and battles. Some historians have described him as the Napoleon of Persia or the Second Alexander.
