'The Blitz' is the term used to describe the many German attacks on English civilian targets that were carried out between September 7, 1940 and May 11, 1941. Approx. one million houses and flats were damaged in the southern part of England - mainly London - and thousands of men, women and children died during these Luftwaffe waves. 'The Blitz', however, did not only hit the English hard, it also contributed to the population's fierce resilience in meeting the enemy,
