“Monty Python and the Holy Grail” was loosely built upon the legend of King Arthur and the knights of the round table. The six Monty Python members all in all played 42 different roles. Michael Palin set record with 12 roles and the second place was shared by Eric Idle and John Cleese, who both played seven roles. Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones each had six roles and Graham Chapman four!
