A large collection of copper kitchenware, and few parts of brass and iron, including various moulds, pots, lids, pans, kettles and a pair of candlesticks etc. Marked, among others a kettle with crowned owner's monogram for King Christian VIII of Denmark, many parts with crowned mirrored owner's monogram for Crown Prince Frederik (VIII) of Denmark and some parts with owners' monogram for Prince Christian (X) and Princess Alexandrine of Denmark. Some parts with Copenhagen's three towers and dating. 18th-early 20th century. (Approx. 200 parts).

Provenance: King Christian VIII (1786–1848), Christian VIII's Palace at Amalienborg; and his niece's son and the son's wife, King Frederik VIII (1843–1912) and Queen Lovisa of Denmark (1851–1926), Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg; and their son and daughter-in-law, King Christian X (1870–1947) and Queen Alexandrine of Denmark (1879–1952), Christian VIII's Palace at Amalienborg; then their son and daughter-in-law, Hereditary Prince Knud (1900–1976) and Hereditary Princess Caroline-Mathilde of Denmark (1912–1995), Christian VIII's Palace at Amalienborg; hereafter their son, His Excellency Ingolf Count of Rosenborg (b. 1940) until today.

Kitchen copperware like this were often used generation after generation. Examples here are the 18th century candlestiks and the kettle from King Christian VIII of Denmark. Kitchen copperware was of course also supplemented or renewed. Based on the monograms on the individual parts, most of the copperware originates from King Frederik VIII and Queen Lovisa of Denmark as well as King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine of Denmark. Both couples had their kitchens refurnished in respectively Frederik VIII's Palace and Christian VIII's Palace in connection to their weddings in 1869 and 1898. The kitchen in Frederik VIII's Palace is - including recipes from it - also mentioned in: Hans Andersen, “I Enkedronningens køkken på Amalienborg” (In the kitchen of the Dowager Queen at Amalienborg), 2012.

Wear due to age and use, among others dents, marks, scratches, rust and verdigris.
