Stefano Bruzzi (b. Piacenza 1835, d. s.p. 1911)

Stefano Bruzzi belonged to the Italian art movement “Macchiaioli”, which arose in reaction to the stiffened form and art of the Academy and whose participants were mainly active in Tuscany in the second half of the 19th century. Bruzzi exhibited 1879–83 at the Royal Academy in London. Today he is represented at the Galleria d'Arte Moderna (Palazzo Pitti) in Florence and in the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome.
