Gravell & Tolkien

A George III lantern clock in a later mahogany case, silver-plated brass dial, full-hour striking movement, strike-silent, calendar. Signed 'GRAVELL & TOLKIEN, LONDON'. England, late 18th century. H. 51 cm. W. 44 cm. D. 28 cm.

Gravell and Tolkien was active in London 1795–1820, successors of the famous London clockmaker Eardley Norton 1762–1794.

Condition

No guarantee of the function of the clock work. Wear due to age and use. The dial is worn.
