Antique full-silk Teheran rug, Persia. The highly decorative Gerus arabesque forked-leaf scrolling vine design stands out against the dark blue field, the simple border ornamentation of leaves and palmettes on yellow ground gives a great contrast to the centre field and provides a dignified framework.
