An original b/w gelatin silver photograph of American actor James Dean (1931–1955) preparing the Porsche 550 Spyder 'Little Bastard' in which he crashed on September 30, 1955 in Cholame, California. On the right his regular mechanic, former Luftwaffe pilot Rudolf Karl (Rolf) Wütherich (1927–1981). Shoot from January 1, 1955. Back with stamped publication dates (October 1, 1955, September 16, 1960, November 16, 1966 and July 24 1992), agency stamp (United Press International), restriction stamp ('This Picture May Not Be ...'), return stamps as well as handwritten numbering (VIII). Double glazing. Visible size 19×24 cm. Frame size 29×34 cm.

This is an original b/w gelatin-silver press photograph from 1955, which shows signs of normal handling. Back has yellowed slightly. No further remarks.
