Ole Wanscher (b. Frederiksberg 1903, d. Charlottenlund 1985)

Rectangular mahogany coffee table on eight-legged frame. Made by cabinetmaker A. J. Iversen, with maker's label. H. 56. L. 140. W. 90 cm.

Provenance: ”House of Danske Bank” Antiques, art and design from Erichsen’s House and other historic buildings of Holmens Kanal, Copenhagen.

Variation of the model was presented at The Copenhagen Cabinet-Makers' 38th Guild Exhibition at Designmuseum Danmark in 1964.

With a.o. the following mentioning : “ ...Then we have Ole Wanschers perfectionistic coffee table with four ”Chinese“ intersecting rails which reveal A.J Iversen´s supreme skill..”
