An Egyptian polychrome cartonnage mummy mask, later repainted, wearing a shell patterned wig, on chest a field with figures and hieroglyphs. Mounted on board. Ptolemaic-early Roman Period, 323 BC-1st century AD. H. c. 40 cm.

Provenance: According to information acquired in Luxor in c. 1975.

Included a letter in Danish June 1979 from the Institute of Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology.

Condition

Wear due to age and use. Crack by neck, chipped. Heavily restored.
