The present painting is a copy of Martinus Rørbye's “Pifferaro” dated Rome 1835. Dalsgaard was for a period a private student of Martinus Rørbye. It therefore makes good sense that he copies a painting done by his master.
Crackles and at edge minor peelings. A mark along the ege of the stretcher. In need of cleaning and a slight tightening.
