Lugduni: Apud Horatium Cardon, 1612. Folio. [52], 468 [56] p. Engraved title page with historiated border composed of 11 vignettes with scenes from Exodus and woodcut head- and tailpieces. Cont. limp vellum with evidence of now-lacking ties (heat stain on front cover). Scattered waterstains but almost totally exempt from the usual browning.

One of most famous and important early treatises on magic and witchcraft, Disquisitionum magicarum libri sex was first printed 1599–1600 and is the magnum opus of the Jesuit scholar Martin del Río (1551–1608). As seen from the title the work was to be used for the clergy as well as a reference book in witch trials, and contains a plentitude of information on all sorts of witchcraft, demons, spells, alchemy, divination and exorcism.
