Danish pillar breech rifle M/1848 produced in 1849 with extra barrel and bayonet in scabbard. The lock is marked MD-1848 1849–979 and 979 is repeated on the stock, trigger guard, hammer, safety catch and on the barrel rings. The approx. 91.5 cm. long barrel in calibre approx. 17.5 mm. with grasshopper sights is marked 1851–145914. L.I.B. 2C 38. The ramrod is marked 1849–1336. With the rifle the original barrel without sights marked 8_LI_B. 4C_11. The bayonet's socket is marked 8. L.I.B. 4C. 11 and the ricasso is marked 1849–979.
The rifle has been used for black powder shooting. The original browned barrel with a bag (sack) approx. 38 cm. from the tang.
