Edvard Collin, head of department (departementschef) and literary collector. His book collection consisted of more than 25,000 volumes sold at auction after his death. In addition, he had founded a large collection of manuscripts and letters, which his son Johan greatly expanded. This was bequeathed in 1905 to the Royal Library and occupies the undisputed place of honor between the collections from the 19th century.

Condition

Mounted. Pale traces of folding. Examined in frame.
