J. F. Clemens worked for three years on the engraving - “Bataillen d. 2. April 1801, paa Kiøbenhavns Reed” - after the painting by C. A. Lorentzens from 1801, today located in Frederiksborg Castle. The motif is a detailed rendering of the battle around one o'clock.
Provenance: Danish manor house.
The paper has turned slightly brown. Some foxing. Minor discolourations.
