Palanquins, carriages and carts of Bengal, an interesting collection of drawings and watercolours depicting various ways of transportation. From the humble two-wheeled carts to the luxurious palanquins. The latter were used in the past to carry a deity or idol of a God. Later they were used by Europeans and rich noblemen and ladies from the upper classes of society. Various techniques, pencil, watercolour and wash on European paper, several on mounts. 23×16 cm - 43×65 cm. (30)
