C. A. Jensen (b. Bredsted near Husum 1792, d. Copenhagen 1870)

In the above-mentioned work on C. A. Jensen p. 194–195 Sigurd Schultz praises the portrait of Mrs Horrebow as one of Jensen's best: “A small, crooked and not so beautiful woman was the professor's wife ... But her face glowing with kindness and lovableness, ...” later Schultz sums up: “The painting dramatically shows the union of two opposite moments. The tragic plainness and the inner human values together create a higher beauty”.
