W. & D. Downey, London
Double signed black-and-white silver gelatin presentation photograph of Queen Alexandra of Great Britain (1844–1925). At her side the daughter, Princess Victoria (1868–1935). Recording from c. 1900. Contemporary frame. Visible size 26×19 cm. Frame size 28×21 cm.
Queen Alexandra was born a Danish princess and married the future Edward VII of Great Britain in 1863. This made her the daughter-in-law of Queen Victoria (1819–1901), after whom her daughter was named.
This is an original black-and-white silver gelatin presentation photograph from around 1900, which appears with ‘silvering’ around all edges. Cardboard mount with discoloration/yellowing. Bruun Rasmussen warrants the authenticity of the signatures. Frame with minor chips and later coat of bronze paint.
