The present drawing is a study for “Piazza della Bocca della Verità with the so-called Vesta Temple in Rome” from 1837 ((Statens Museum for Kunst, inv.no. KMS1072).
Provenance: Presumably the artist's estate auction, 12. october 1880, no. 72A, “Peters Kuplen”. Dansk Kunsthandel between 1917 and 1919.
The paper has turned slightly yellow. Foxing.
